World Environment Day (WED) is celebrated on 5 June each year and its intention is to stimulate awareness of the environment and enhance political attention and public action. In addition to marking WED, it is also appropriate to celebrate with ELEMENTS PRIVATE GOLF RESERVE on its achievement of winning the John Collier TOP CLUB Award for environmental compliance, social responsibility and good governance for South African golf courses and Special Mention Awards to Umhlali Country Club and Olivewood Private Estate.

Winning a TOP CLUB AWARD is achieved through the support of committed and passionate people, who wholly embracing the three pillars of sustainable golf being environmental compliance, social responsibility and good governance (ESG).

What ELEMENTS PRIVATE GOLF RESERVE has done so well, in their survey questionnaire, is that it has illustrated, not only its stewardship of the land linked to areas such as land restoration, desertification, and drought resilience, but their attention to the three pillars of sustainable golf, namely environmental compliance, social responsibility and good governance (ESG), the UN Sustainable Development Goals dealing with Life on Land and Climate Action and embracing social responsibility and the implementation of good governance.

As the Chairman of Elements, Mr Waldo du Toit said in receiving the TOP CLUB AWARD, the success is due to the commitment of the management team and all support staff.
