Dear Club Manager, Director of Golf, Course Superintendent,
To get the year going the John Collier team visited the Annual PGA Show in Orlando, Florida, USA from 22 to 24 January 2025.
It was certainly worth the hype and anyone who is serious about their role in the game was there, and ready to do business. The PGA show is a “trade-only” event and is not open to the public. Because of this distinction there is an aura of something quite unique and exceptional at the show.
It is, for the golf nut, pure elation. In every corner of the room, each conference attendee was as excited as the next about the game – one walk around the floor and it is no wonder the game, and the businesses around it, is thriving in the U.S. The show’s ethos was palpable, connecting golf professionals to create opportunities and grow the game. There was a genuine “let’s do business” attitude and the term “let me introduce you to…” was part of the show’s currency.
Organised by the PGA of America, the PGA Show provided a wealth of information and resources with thousands of PGA professionals gathering to share insights into the latest innovations and the next big thing. It offered a prime opportunity to witness the sport’s newest innovations, such as the use of artificial intelligence (AI), which continues to become more prevalent in the game, as well as equipment building and to game and course (sustainability) management.

The PGA show did indeed have something for everyone. It showcased the latest innovations from top equipment and technology brands which could be field-tested at their practice facility. Workshops were offered throughout the event including coaching, club fitting, fitness and range operations.
The Education Program offered more than 70 sessions to advance golf industry expertise and enhance industry professional skills during tailored learning opportunities on key topics, including sustainability efforts. Education sessions began with outdoor workshops and afternoon classroom sessions.
The PGA show is indeed the focal point for golf business, attendance was through the roof and the general vibe was palpably positive. Our assessment is that the business of golf is in a strong position to thrive (at least in the US) in 2025. The remarkable turnout and the sheer energy of the PGA Show underscored the dynamic and resilient nature of the golf industry. As innovations continue to emerge and professionals come together to share their expertise and passion, the future of golf looks incredibly promising.
