The sixteenth john Collier Annual Survey on Environmental Compliance and Good Governance for South African Golf Courses
The dust has finally settled, the printing presses have gone silent. and the sixteenth 3ohin Collier Annual Survey on Environmental Compliance and Good Governance for South Africa has been published.
Each year’s survey is a comprehensive body of work, incorporating over 5O pages of ‘serious’ reading, as necessitated both by the scope of ground to b covered, and as befits the importance of the subject matter.
It was never intended to be a John Clancy novel, and while it Is a good read, especially for a work of this nature, and given the reach and complexity of the subject matter, especially as regards the government legislation involved, there will be, almost inevitably. some grey areas. Therefore. over the next few issues of BG, shall be putting our usual FAQ content on ice. and looking instead at the key points and findings in this year’s survey with Alistair Collier.
We shall be going through the survey to revisit the key points, both in terms of what we need to do as referenced by our responsibilities to the environment, and also as our conduct as a sporting community comes under ever closer scrutiny, both by the government and the ever watchful ‘eye’ of public opinion.
